The world premiere of Doug Haverty's play, Next Window, Please is being presented by The Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood.

Set in the interior of a bank (set design by Chris Winfield and Richard Alan Woody), we become privy to the lives of five tellers played by Stephanie Colet (Lulu Rosales), Gina Yates (Bennie Bedrosian), Bianca Giselle (Genevieve Rossington-Clarke), Shelby Kocee (Sophie Risdon), and Trisha Hershberger (Delia Jean Bennett-Worthington). In these difficult economic times, Supervisor Cassie (Kady Douglas) informs her Assistant Arthur (Chris Wolfe) that due to the bank's merger, there may be layoffs.
Having to make the decision of choosing who to keep and who to let go keeps Cassie stressed out, especially since her own husband has recently been laid off from his job of many years. Each of the tellers has been close to Cassie, all are equally proficient in their work, and naturally, all need their jobs. She is eventually told that she can only keep two tellers, but in the end, the dilemma is solved for Cassie, relieving her of the guilt of having to make the decision.

Except for the very fine performances by a talented group of actors, the first act becomes too long and tedious. The second act is an improvement, even fostering a love story. Altogether, though, the play is too long. Next Window, Please is directed by Richard Alan Woody. It will play through September 17th, at the Lonny Chapman Theatre, 10900 Burbank Boulevard, in North Hollywood. Performances are Thursdays through Sundays.
